Learning about impressionism made me crave making art and painting women. I have always loved the slight eroticism displayed in many of the impressionistic paintings, the curves, the pastel colors and the overall softness drew my attention. I wanted to show my love for impressionism in this painting but adding a contemporary touch to it by painting the dress with pallet knives and making it very abstract.
