Dasha Prudnikova is a 28 year old artist who moved to the US when she was 10 years old. She currently splits her time living in Maryland, US and Oaxaca, Mexico. She has had a few shows at the galleries in Oaxaca and Mexico City and got very inspired by the beautiful traditions of Mexico and created many "Day of the Dead" theme paintings.

She has always been very artistic and creative and has made art for as long as she can remember, always drawing or painting, going through sketchbook after sketchbook. When she was in middle school, one of the art teachers noticed her talents and made her apply to an art magnet high school "Carver Center For Arts and Technology." She got in and studied painting and sculpture there. She received many awards when she was younger, including first place in the Maryland antidrug poster competition and two silver keys in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. When she got older, her mom started taking her to art museums in every city they traveled to, and Dasha fell in love with impressionism. Her biggest influences have been Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, and Edgar Degas, who inspired her to appreciate the curves and softness of the female form and face. Since then, she has completed dozens of commissions, has been featured in several magazines, won many competitions and reached new heights with her paintings. Some of them are hanging on walls in cities like London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia. Last year she was also invited to work for the Mural Arts of Philadelphia on five murals on several story buildings.

Dasha focuses on portrait and figurative paintings and captures emotion in all her paintings by focusing on the eyes and hands. She believes hands play just as powerful and critical of a role as the eyes and that so much can be told with a gesture of the hand. She tries to experiment with every painting but always keeps this core idea in each one. Dasha mostly works in oil paints but occasionally likes to sway from her usual style and adds in mosaics, glass, and acrylics. She creates work that provokes the viewer to feel and truly connect with the painting.  She is fueled by an eagerness to grow in her craft and create constantly. Her pieces range from classical portraits to sensual work.

Dasha Prudnikova es una artista de 28 años que se mudó a Estados Unidos a la edad de 10 años y que actualmente reside en Maryland, después de haber vivido más de tres años en Oaxaca, México. Su tiempo en México la inspiró profundamente, especialmente a través de las ricas tradiciones del país, lo que la llevó a crear muchas obras con temática del "Día de los Muertos". Ha expuesto en galerías tanto en Oaxaca como en la Ciudad de México, donde su perspectiva única ha llamado la atención.

Desde muy joven, Dasha estuvo inmersa en el arte, dibujando y pintando constantemente, llenando innumerables cuadernos de bocetos. En la escuela secundaria, su talento fue notado por un maestro de arte, quien la animó a postularse al prestigioso Carver Center for Arts and Technology, una escuela especializada en arte, donde perfeccionó sus habilidades en pintura y escultura. Dasha ganó numerosos premios durante su juventud, incluyendo el primer lugar en el concurso de pósteres antidrogas de Maryland y dos Claves de Plata en los Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Su camino artístico se enriqueció aún más con visitas frecuentes a museos de arte, donde desarrolló una profunda admiración por el Impresionismo, en particular por las obras de Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh y Edgar Degas. Su influencia la llevó a abrazar la suavidad y sutileza de la forma femenina en su propio trabajo.

A lo largo de los años, Dasha ha completado numerosos encargos, ha aparecido en varias revistas y ha ganado múltiples competiciones artísticas. Sus obras cuelgan ahora en colecciones de ciudades como Londres, Los Ángeles, San Francisco y Filadelfia. Recientemente, fue invitada a colaborar con Mural Arts of Philadelphia, contribuyendo a cinco murales de gran escala en edificios de varios pisos.

Especializándose en retratos y pinturas figurativas de mujeres, el trabajo de Dasha captura la emoción con un enfoque distintivo en los ojos y las manos. Deliberadamente retrata a las mujeres desde una perspectiva femenina, con el objetivo de romper con la visión histórica de los artistas masculinos. Cree que los gestos de las manos son tan expresivos y reveladores como los ojos, y este enfoque dual crea una profundidad emocional cautivadora en su obra. Aunque la pintura al óleo sigue siendo su medio principal, a Dasha le gusta experimentar con mosaicos, vidrio y acrílicos, siempre empujando los límites de su creatividad. Sus piezas van desde retratos clásicos hasta obras más sensuales y emocionalmente cargadas, siempre con la intención de evocar una conexión profunda con el espectador. Impulsada por una pasión incesante por su oficio, el arte de Dasha está en constante evolución, motivada por su deseo de expresarse, experimentar y conectar.
