"Three Homes, One Heart" Original Painting

Home isn't always one place. Sometimes it's a collection of places that shape who you become.

I painted this piece for a scholarship centered around the experience of being an immigrant. I've had the unique experience of starting over in a new country not once, but twice. I was born in Russia, later made a home in the US, then spent five unforgettable years living in Mexico before returning to the US. Each move came with challenges, new languages, new customs, and learning how to build a life from the ground up. But each one also taught me resilience, adaptability, and gave me a deeper appreciation for different cultures and the people who make them special.

The three fabrics represent the three countries that have shaped my life. Rather than dividing me, they come together in my hands because every place I've called home has become part of who I am.

Today I'm pursuing a degree in psychology, carrying with me the lessons, memories, and perspectives that each country has given me. I wouldn't be the person or the artist I am without all three.
